NaHCO3 is a crystalline and powdery solid that is white and has no smell. Chemical formula of baking soda is NaHCO3. This product decomposes into sodium carbonate at a temperature above 50 degrees Celsius. In addition to being soluble in water, this product is also soluble in acetone and methanol, but it is not soluble in ethanol. This product is an amphoteric combination whose aqueous solution has a slightly gamey effect. At a temperature above 50°C, baking soda decomposes into sodium carbonate at a relatively slower rate, but at a temperature above 200°C, this reaction will take place much faster.
